Hyun Bin & Son Ye Jin Make History as Both Win Best Actor and Actress at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards

At the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards held at KBS Hall on November 19, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin made history as the first married couple to win Best Actor and Actress in the same year. Hyun Bin won Best Actor for ‘Harbin,’ while Son Ye Jin claimed Best Actress for ‘No Other Choice,’ marking a historic double victory.
In her acceptance speech, Son Ye Jin reflected on her journey: “I first won Best Actress at 27. Now, as a mother, this award feels profoundly different. I want to grow as a person and as an actress.” She thanked director Park Chan Wook and her co-stars, dedicating the honor to “the two men I love the most”—her husband Hyun Bin and their son.

Hyun Bin expressed the emotional weight of portraying independence activist Ahn Jung Geun: “I was afraid when I first received the offer. I couldn’t imagine the pain, responsibility, and sacrifice those people carried.” He thanked director Woo Min Ho, co-stars Park Jung Min and Jeon Yeo Been, and the production staff. He ended by addressing Son Ye Jin directly: “To my wife Ye Jin, who gives me strength simply by existing, and to our son—I love you both deeply.”
This year’s ceremony awarded 18 categories in total. ‘No Other Choice’ emerged as the biggest winner with six trophies, including Best Film, Best Director (Park Chan Wook), and Best Actress. ‘Harbin’ also received high acclaim for its historical depth and emotional storytelling. The couple’s dual triumph became one of the most memorable moments in Blue Dragon history.
