fromis_9 Reveal ‘White Longing’ Concept Photos: White Snow, Pastel Santa and Holiday Versions Build a Complete Winter Comeback Story

K-pop girl group fromis_9 (Song Hayoung, Park Jiwon, Lee Chaeyoung, Lee Nagyung, and Baek Jiheon) unveiled a full three-part visual concept rollout for their remake digital single ‘White Longing’. Through official SNS channels, ASCEND released the White Snow, Pastel Santa, and Holiday concept photos, creating a cohesive winter storyline ahead of the December 2 release.
The first White Snow version features the members dressed in pure white on snow-dusted steps, highlighting a soft and fairy-like winter aura. Props such as glass orbs and ribbons enhance the nostalgic mood of the original song, which Korean outlets described as ‘warm’ and ‘the opening chapter of a winter story’.
The Pastel Santa version shifts into pastel tones, pairing Santa hats with dresses in pink, white, brown, and blue. Each member showcases different poses and expressions, giving this set a playful yet gentle holiday mood.
The Holiday version, serving as the finale, uses bold red styling with minimal accessories and darker tones. Low-angle framing and shimmering lights create an elegant party look that Korean media described as ‘alluring and chic’, marking the strongest and most dramatic of the three concepts.
‘White Longing’ is a remake of Kim Min-jong’s 2001 track. fromis_9 retain the warmth of the original melody while adding modern arrangements, reinterpreting the winter ballad through the group’s signature refreshing tone.
Earlier this year, fromis_9 proved strong chart performance with their 6th mini album ‘From Our 20’s’. The title track ‘LIKE YOU BETTER’ stayed in the Melon Top 100 for three weeks and won first place on Music Bank. Their winter remake project is gaining attention thanks to its polished three-part visual rollout.
‘White Longing’ will be released on December 2 at 6 PM KST, marking fromis_9’s warm winter release for the year-end season.

[KStarLoud Deep Dive] The three-part concept rollout demonstrates fromis_9’s attempt to carve out a consistent ‘winter identity’ within the crowded year-end market. Rather than relying on a single aesthetic, the progression from the clean purity of White Snow, to the playful holiday warmth of Pastel Santa, and finally to the refined elegance of the Holiday version forms a visual narrative arc that complements the emotional tone of the remake track. This staged release strategy increases shareability across Instagram and X, allowing the group to maximize exposure even with limited music show appearances. As fromis_9 continue to position themselves within the winter ballad space, future live stages or collaborative appearances could further solidify their reputation as a group uniquely suited for seasonal sentimental concepts.
