Korean singer Na Yoon-kwon and EXO member D.O. (Do Kyung-soo) released their duet remake of ‘If It Was Me (나였으면)’ on November 7, sparking strong reactions across major streaming platforms. Originally a 2004 hit by Na Yoon-kwon, the song has been reborn under S27M Entertainment with the duo’s contrasting yet complementary tones breathing new life into the classic ballad.

According to reports from Edaily and MBN, the track debuted at No. 10 on MelOn’s HOT100, No. 3 on Bugs TOP100, and No. 47 on Genie HOT100, while topping MelOn’s real-time search and T World’s ringtone charts. The following day it entered MelOn’s TOP100 and reached No. 29 on iTunes New Songs, reflecting growing momentum and broad listener appeal.

TopStarNews described the rearranged version as one that ‘conveys genuine emotion through the singers’ voices.’ Na Yoon-kwon’s rich, resonant tone blends seamlessly with D.O.’s subtle restraint, giving new weight to the song’s theme of unspoken love. S27M Entertainment commented, ‘The contrasting timbres and emotional nuances of both artists created a highly polished remake that continues to receive enthusiastic feedback.’

Originally hailed as one of the defining Korean ballads of the 2000s, ‘If It Was Me’ has often been covered on music programs. Na Yoon-kwon’s direct involvement in this remake, alongside D.O., reintroduces the classic to a younger audience while highlighting D.O.’s steady vocal prowess and musical depth. Critics note the duet as a ‘cross-generational collaboration that makes timeless emotions resonate anew.’
