Article4 hours ago

After nearly a year of contract-related disputes, ADOR has clarified the future of NewJeans. On December 29, the agency confirmed the termination of Danielle’s exclusive contract, while Hanni chose to return to ADOR. Minji remains in ongoing discussions, officially ending hopes for a five-member reunion.

ADOR explained that following the court’s confirmation of the contract’s validity, the agency engaged in multiple rounds of discussions with members and their families. These conversations took place over an extended period and addressed past disputes, contractual responsibilities, and potential paths forward for group activities.

During this process, Hanni visited Korea with her family and held extensive discussions with the agency. After reviewing the circumstances and legal context, she chose to respect the court ruling and continue her activities under ADOR, a decision the agency described as the outcome of careful consideration.

In contrast, ADOR concluded that continued cooperation with Danielle was no longer feasible. The agency officially notified her of the contract termination, emphasizing that the decision stemmed from accumulated conflicts and trust issues rather than a single incident.

As for Minji, ADOR stated that discussions are ongoing and no final timeline has been set. The agency noted that misunderstandings developed over time and stressed the importance of resolving issues through fact-based dialogue before moving forward.

At the group level, NewJeans will proceed with plans based on a four-member structure. ADOR indicated that rebuilding trust with fans and the public will take priority over immediate releases, with further communication strategies currently under review.

The conclusion of the dispute has sparked broad discussion among fans and industry observers. While some express disappointment over the lost five-member lineup, others point to the case as a reflection of deeper issues surrounding contracts, trust, and communication within the K-pop industry.
