NewJeans has claimed the ‘Trend of the Year’ K-POP Group award at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA), solidifying their continued rise and global popularity following their return to ADOR.

The ‘Trend of the Year’ award is determined by aggregating twelve months of ‘Trend of the Month’ fan voting, making it one of KGMA’s most competitive categories. NewJeans’ strong domestic and global fanbase once again proved decisive.

The group previously secured two major awards—including the prestigious ‘Grand Artist’—at last year’s KGMA. Korean media noted that their ability to win again despite a year marked by disruptions shows an unshaken level of influence.

Since debuting in 2022, NewJeans has consistently dominated digital charts with hits such as “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” “Ditto,” “OMG,” “Super Shy,” and “ETA,” followed by “How Sweet” and their Japanese debut single “Supernatural.”

According to Spotify, NewJeans’ cumulative streams have surpassed 6.9 billion plays, with multiple tracks remaining within top global and domestic charts—further solidifying their impact as one of the most influential fourth-generation K-pop groups.

Their KGMA win raises expectations for NewJeans’ upcoming comeback and international activities. Korean media predict that the group will remain a major contender throughout the 2025 award season.
